Rory Roberts started his insurance career in
Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1963. After a brief move to England
in 1965, Roberts moved to Canada in 1968, where he was hired
as the insurance risk manager for the Bronfman family interests
in Montréal, including their real estate, sports and
liquor interests.
In 1970, Roberts moved to Toronto, continuing to work primarily
on the Bronfman family’s real estate assets –
The Fairview Corporation; which has subsequently become Cadillac
Fairview Corporation.
In 1976, the Bronfmans assisted in the development of Roberts’
new insurance risk management consulting practice –
In Tech Risk Management Inc. – a company he continues
to operate today.
Widely regarded as one of Canada’s most influential
risk managers, Roberts’ roots are firmly entrenched
in the financial and real estate sectors, where the Company
continues to specialize.
In fact, In Tech’s first two clients – CP Pension
Fund and Excelsior Life (now Maritime Life Assurance) –
remain clients today, just two examples of the long-term relationships
In Tech Management Inc. forges with clients.
Over the years, In Tech has accumulated some of the most
seasoned risk management professionals in the industry. There
isn’t a consulting firm in Canada that can match the
qualifications and knowledge of the people at In Tech.
Quality and service. Two reasons why In Tech has grown into
Canada’s premier independent pure insurance risk management
company.
